The Oakland Raiders officially listed franchise quarterback Derek Carr as inactive for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens and named backup EJ Manuel the starter for the Week 5 game.
Carr suffered a fracture in his back last week, but practiced this week and petitioned to play.
The initial diagnosis had Carr out two-to-six weeks. He is now expected to return next week against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Also inactive for Sunday's game are corners David Amerson and Gareon Conley, guard Gabe Jackson, defensive lineman Jihad Ward, and running back DeAndre Washington.
