Defensive tackle Akeem Spence's show of unity with his Detroit Lions teammates in a peaceful protest before Week 3's game against the Atlanta Falcons wasn't without consequence.
Spence claims his pregame actions cost his father a job working on a house.
Got some awful news from my father a contractor deny giving him a job on doing a house because of my peaceful protest #smh

On the morning of Sunday's game, Spence tweeted out "Together we stand divided we fall #unity#oneprice."
During Sunday's national anthem, he and several members of the Lions took a knee while holding hands with other teammates who linked arms while standing.
