Detroit Lions kicker Matt Prater is known for hitting clutch field goals from long distances, but he may have topped himself Monday night.

With 30 seconds remaining in the first half, the Lions veteran's kick hit the top of the crossbar before narrowly clearing the uprights to give his team a 17-7 lead over the New York Giants before the half.

It even got a rare emotional reaction from head coach Jim Caldwell.
