Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay played a key role in ending Aaron Donald's holdout, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
McVay flew to Atlanta initially instead of Green Bay for the team's final preseason game to try and convince Donald to rejoin the club. The 31-year-old would eventually head to Green Bay prior to kickoff, but was absent for team activities that day, sources told Schefter.
The meeting eventually helped Donald decide to rejoin the team, but he won't suit up Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
Donald sat out training camp in hopes of getting a new contract, as the Rams picked up his fifth-year option for 2018. The defensive tackle has developed into one of the top defenders in the league during his brief career, posting 28 sacks in his first three seasons.
