The Cincinnati Bengals are working on a contract extension with linebacker Vontaze Burfict, a source told ESPN's Josina Anderson.
The 26-year-old, who is serving a three-game suspension to begin the season, is coming off of a campaign in which he recorded 101 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and two interceptions.
Burfict was named to the Pro Bowl and was a second-team All-Pro in 2013.
A new deal hasn't been reached and Burfict is scheduled to earn $3.08 million with a $4.06 million cap hit for the upcoming season.
