The Seattle Seahawks have waived backup quarterback Trevone Boykin as part of their lineup moves to establish a 53-man roster.
Boykin was expected to back up Russell Wilson after performing that role as a rookie, but it appears Austin Davis has won that position.
The 24-year-old started the preseason strong, completing 12-of-15 passes for 189 yards with one touchdown and one interception, as well as a rushing score, but saw his play regress as the games went on.
Boykin was also arrested for misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and public intoxication in March.
