Report: Bears release Victor Cruz

The Chicago Bears are releasing wide receiver Victor Cruz, according to Josina Anderson of ESPN.
Cruz's stay with the Bears was brief, as Chicago inked the veteran wideout to a one-year deal back in May. The 30-year-old posted 3,626 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns for the New York Giants over a three-year stretch, but struggled to regain his form in 2016 after missing most of 2014 with a serious knee injury and all of 2015 with a calf ailment.
Cruz also suffered a knee injury in Thursday's game against the Cleveland Browns. He recorded six receptions and one touchdown during the preseason for the Bears.
