The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offensive line hit up Ruth's Chris Steak House on Wednesday night for their annual rookie dinner. And, as per tradition, the first-year players were expected to pick up the tab.
However, Korren Kirven and Cole Gardner got quite the surprise upon learning they'd be splitting a $26,000 bill.
Left tackle Donovan Smith posted a photo of the bill on his Instagram story:

After a brief moment of panic, the rookies learned it was just a joke.
Thank you for using your head it's a fake bill we tricked the rookies. Didn't take much for someone to logically think about this

Even better, the veterans covered the entire bill, which came to a significantly-less $3,000.
"We didn't have to pay for anything," Kirven told ESPN's Jenna Laine. "We were shocked at first when we saw the bill. We thought we weren't gonna make it. But at the end, knowing they paid it was pretty cool of them."
