Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones once again came to the defense of Ezekiel Elliott on Thursday amid the league's ongoing investigation into a domestic violence allegation against the running back. This time, though, he also suggested the NFL has been looking into something else instead.

"The domestic violence is not an issue. Zeke has had some other things that have been looked at," Jones said on NBC's broadcast Thursday, according to Will Brinson of CBS Sports.

Jones previously stated that the NFL has all the evidence it needs to make a decision about whether to discipline Elliott, and hopes a result is imminent.

"I would really hope it would be immediately," Jones said.

A report Thursday indicated Elliott had a late June hearing with commissioner Roger Goodell as part of the NFL investigation. That contradicted a July 28 report that said Goodell avoided all proceedings connected to the 22-year-old.
