Carolina Panthers star tight end Greg Olsen won't hold out from training camp and will report with the rest of his teammates Tuesday, a source told Joseph Person of The Charlotte Observer.
Olsen was considering staying away in order to gain leverage for a new contract from the Panthers, expressing his dissatisfaction with the two years and $13 million total left on his current deal on multiple occasions.
The 32-year-old is reportedly seeking an extension that would make him one of the top-paid players at his position. He ranks seventh in average salary ($7.5 million) and 12th in guaranteed money ($12 million).
Olsen's decision to report may have something to do with the Panthers' change in general manager.
Last week, Carolina fired Dave Gettleman, who was reportedly unwilling to give in to Olsen's demands. The Panthers replaced him with Marty Hurney on an interim basis. Hurney acquired the veteran pass-catcher via trade in 2011 during his first stint in charge of the franchise.
