Ravens' Harbaugh spends $1,500 on New Era caps for armed forces

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh showed his appreciation for the U.S. Army by helping military members show their other true colors.

Harbaugh gets a $1,500 allotment from New Era every year, and this spring, he decided to spend it on gifts for soldiers in Afghanistan.

He sent 154 caps representing a variety of NFL, NBA, MLB, and college teams, according to Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official website.

"Certainly can't underestimate how appreciative we are of the great sacrifices made by our military members overseas, and so our goal with the caps was to try and brighten the days of as many Army men and women as we could," Harbaugh said.

He added, "I know that, unfortunately, not everyone is a Ravens fan, so I thought we should send hats of all teams. But I made sure there were some Ravens, and Michigan, caps in there in case anyone wants to change allegiances."
