The Washington Redskins have turned down trade attempts for quarterback Kirk Cousins from three teams in the past 10 days or so, a league source told Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com.
Cabot didn't name the three teams who approached the Redskins.
The Browns were not among the three, however, contrary to a recent report that said Cleveland could make a run at acquiring the veteran pivot.
Cabot adds her source said the Redskins turned down the inquiries "immediately."
The tumultuous relationship between the Redskins and Cousins has led to persistent rumors of a split, with the San Francisco 49ers consistently mentioned as the quarterback's preferred landing spot.
On Tuesday, Cousins denied a report that said he'd demanded a trade, saying he was only asking about the Redskins' plan for him.
Washington slapped Cousins with the franchise tag for the second straight season, meaning he'll earn $23.94 million in 2017 unless a long-term deal can be agreed upon.
