Jabrill Peppers, one of the most versatile players in the draft, is growing tired of people speculating about his position at the next level.
Peppers starred for Michigan as a linebacker last season, although he's naturally suited to play safety. The reigning Big Ten defensive player of the year is certain he ought to remain in the backfield.
"What do I look like? ... I'm a safety," Peppers said at the combine Saturday, according to NFL.com's Chase Goodbread.
Peppers added, "The bottom line is, I'm a ball player, and I'm a hell of a ball player. I intend to run fast, I intend to look smooth doing whatever it is I'm asked to do."
Peppers has been on the national radar since his sophomore year of high school. He was a consensus five-star recruit, then exceeded the hype during a standout collegiate career. At 22, Peppers is growing weary of the skepticism surrounding him, and is willing to show teams he can excel at any position.
