The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to a contract with veteran linebacker A.J. Hawk, his agent Mike McCartney announced Tuesday.

Hawk started 11 of his 16 appearances for the Cincinnati Bengals last season after playing the first nine years of his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers.

While his days as an every-down player may be finished, the former first-round pick adds much-needed depth and competition to the Falcons' linebacker corps following Sean Weatherspoon's season-ending Achilles injury.

Hawk's most recent season with consistent production came with the 2013 Packers, when he racked up 118 tackles, five sacks, and one interceptions across 16 starts.
