The Denver Broncos have announced linebacker DeMarcus Ware will undergo surgery on his injured forearm and is expected to miss four to five weeks.

It was reported on Sunday that Ware suffered a fractured forearm against the Indianapolis Colts.

Ware left Sunday's game early in the third quarter after recording half a sack, adding to the one and half he recorded in Week 1.

The veteran linebacker has been used sparingly, mostly in pass-rushing situations this season. His role will likely be filled by a combination of Shane Ray and Shaquil Barrett while Ware rehabs his injury.
