Here are the MLB value rankings for Tuesday, April 5 (makeup games HOU at NYY and BOS at CLE are not included):

Starting Pitcher

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Jose Quintana (CWS) at OAK 10
Justin Verlander (DET) at MIA 9
Johnny Cueto (SF) at MIL 8

Quintana will be a highly-owned commodity on Tuesday, but rightly so. He has dominated A's hitters throughout the years, holding their current bats to a .171/.245/.228 slash line in his career. The Coliseum is very pitcher-friendly and Oakland's lineup is terrible to say the least. Quintana is a staple in cash games.

Catcher

NAME OPP VALUE
Derek Norris (SD) vs. LAD 9
Yadier Molina (STL) at PIT 8
Buster Posey (SF) at MIL 8

Norris has had success against Dodgers starter Scott Kazmir, and has destroyed lefties in his career, posting a .293/.368/.479 slash line against southpaws. Kazmir struggled in spring training and has reportedly lost a bit of zip on his fastball. Norris' second slot in the batting order guarantees him at least four place appearances -- which can't be said for all catchers.

First Baseman

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Jose Abreu (CWS) at OAK 9
Paul Goldschmidt (ARI) vs. COL 8
Miguel Cabrera (DET) at MIA 8

It's been eight seasons since Cabrera played for the Marlins and the former two-time AL MVP has just seven plate appearances at Miami's relatively new stadium. Still, with an elite line-drive rate (above 24 percent in each of the last three seasons) that will play in any ballpark, expect Cabrera to see high ownership levels in cash games all season long.

Second Baseman

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Joe Panik (SF) at MIL 10
Ian Kinsler (DET) at MIA 9
Ben Zobrist (CHC) at LAA 9

The Giants scoring 13 runs in Milwaukee on Monday makes two statements: San Francisco's batting order is nicely balanced, and the Brewers' pitchers are going to get slapped around at times. With Panik hitting second, he'll have more opportunities to rack up runs before leaving Milwaukee.

Third Baseman

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Kyle Seager (SEA) at TEX 9
Matt Duffy (SF) at MIL 8
Josh Donaldson (TOR) at TB 8

Seager is 10-for-20 with three homers against Rangers SP Martin Perez for his career. If that's not enough to pique interest in the Mariners' 3B, he has also hit .353 with a .405 OBP in 185 plate appearances at Globe Life Park. Despite his price, Seager has tournament upside.

Shortstop

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Troy Tulowitzki (TOR) at TB 9
Brandon Crawford (SF) at MIL 8

Tulowitzki rises above the pack on this Carlos Correa-less slate. No shortstop has the kind of lineup hitting around him that Tulo does, and he has found ways to drive in runs so far despite just one hit in his first two games. A breakout game could be in the works.

Outfielder

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Andrew McCutchen (PIT) vs. STL 10
Nelson Cruz (SEA) at TEX 10
J.D. Martinez (DET) at MIA 9

McCutchen has had Michael Wacha's number throughout his career. The center fielder is hitting an absurd .500 with three extra base hits in 16 at bats against St. Louis' right hander. His newly-minted second spot in the batting order should lead to even more plate appearances.
