N.O.R.E. says Michael Jordan is a 'hater of hip hop'
For as many times as Michael Jordan's name comes up in hip-hop lyrics, the NBA legend himself may not be a fan of the genre.
While on the Rap Radar podcast, N.O.R.E. explained that Jordan asked to be taken out of the crowd shots for the rapper's music video for "Oh No" in 1999 because "Jordan is a hater of hip hop."
N.O.R.E. recalled the Def Jam Christmas party where rappers were linked up to speak to the legend, and he would not give them the time of day:
I seen him shut Redman down at a Def Jam Christmas party. We were all sitting there waiting to speak to Michael Jordan. N----s said, "Yo, Redman and Method Man is here." (M.J.) said, "Fuck rap." I seen the n---- say that … Quote me. I believe it was Redman and Method Man, and I'm to the side, so I can directly hear his voice. He was like, "Fuck rap." That shit hurt me. Def Jam Christmas party, Mariah Carey hosting and shit like that. He only spoke to Hov, but he spoke to Hov. That's without a doubt.
Ouch.
