Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey reveals he recently underwent surgery to correct a foot injury, according to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald.

Pouncey missed the Dolphins' final two regular-season games and the Pro Bowl as a result of the ailment.

"It was so tough when I turned down the (invitation)," Pouncey said on The Finsiders. "When I turned it down, none of my guys had made the Pro Bowl yet. It was a tough decision for me, but I'm glad I did it. It put me a month and a half ahead of my rehab (after) surgery. It's been going really well. I'm glad I turned it down, so I could be ready by the time OTAs get here. I'm feeling really good."

One of the league's most versatile linemen, Pouncey returned to his natural position after playing primarily at guard in 2014.

Pouncey signed a five-year, $52-million contract last April and is expected to be the fulcrum of the Dolphins' offensive line for the foreseeable future.
