Kenwyne Jones' lengthy career in British football has temporarily come to an end, with Cardiff City confirming that the forward has joined United Arab Emirates-based side Al Jazira on loan.
The Trinidad and Tobago international, whose contract with Cardiff expires in the summer, will play with his new team until the end of the season.
"I am really appreciative of the opportunity to have worked with a great team at Cardiff, and to play in front of some of the most passionate fans in Wales," Jones said in a statement on his Facebook page.
"This decision was made based on the opportunities presented to me.
"I would like to say thank you to the Bluebirds' staff and players - I wish them all success in their future endeavours. I also extend a special thank you to the amazing Bluebirds supporters. It has really been my absolute pleasure, and I will never forget you."
While his time in Britain may not be officially over, the move to the UAE League could close the curtain on a career that's seen Jones play for several clubs since moving across the pond, such as Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke City, Sunderland, Bournemouth, and Cardiff.
