Purdue quarterback David Blough left Saturday's game versus Iowa late in the first quarter with an apparent head injury.
Blough took a huge shot to the head from Iowa defensive back Jordan Lomax at the end of a rushing play. He laid on the field briefly before being assisted off the field by Purdue's medical staff. No penalty was assessed on the play, which resulted in a fumble recovered by Iowa.
Blough ascended to starter early in the season after junior quarterback Austin Appleby struggled. He's thrown for 1,565 yards with 10 touchdowns and eight picks.
With Blough on the sideline, Appleby came in to steer the Boilermakers' offense.
