American Pharoah goes out on top

It wasn't even close.
American Pharoah won the Breeders' Cup Classic on Saturday, blowing away the field in as dominating a performance as you'll ever see in horse racing. With the win, he becomes the first to complete the Grand Slam, having won the Triple Crown (Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes) and now the Classic.
The race was the last of American Pharoah's career, and it didn't matter at all that he was up against older and international horses. He led the majority of the race, and pulled away down the stretch. It was his ninth win in 11 races.
American Pharoah, jockeyed by Victor Espinoza, finished in 1:35.47, setting a Keeneland track record by more than five seconds.
With American Pharoah's Breeders' Cup Classic win, each of the last 5 Triple Crown winners have won the final race of their career.
