Name recognition can only buoy a sinking ship for so long. Much like how prospective car owners are steering clear from Volkswagen at the moment, so too should DFS players avoid the following high-priced names in Week 3.

RB: Jeremy Hill, Bengals (at Ravens)
Hill has not been an elite back but he sure is priced like one. He's certainly capable of a big week, but his time share with Giovani Bernard makes him too much of a question mark to rely on.
Baltimore has only allowed 166 yards on the ground through two weeks. Combine this less than ideal matchup with the uncertainty around Hill's usage and this decision makes itself.
Alternately, the returning Le'Veon Bell is not much more expensive and is more likely to provide the desired return.

WR: Calvin Johnson, Lions (vs. Broncos)
Johnson is the best weapon in Detroit’s offense. It isn’t even close. In Week 2, his targets (17) were where they should be, and more of the same can probably be expected in Week 3.
Considering the expense he carries, however, it’s a safer bet to pay up for either Antonio Brown or Julio Jones, and slide down for Jarvis Landry and Allen Robinson.

TE: Jimmy Graham, Seahawks (vs. Bears)
Graham's price is entirely tied to his reputation, and so far that hasn’t paid any dividends in Seattle.
| Opponent | Receptions | Targets | Yards | TD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rams | 6 | 8 | 51 | 1 |
| Packers | 1 | 2 | 11 | 0 |
He's supposed to be elite and those are not elite numbers. He has already expressed his frustration, too, but that doesn't mean he can be expected to explode in Week 3.
It doesn’t matter that he’s lining up against the Bears. Tight ends have not lit up the stat sheet through two weeks against Chicago. Graham’s pricetag and the questionable matchup mean he’s a no go.
Tight end is a position where value can be found on the cheap or on the Gronk. There’s no need to pay up otherwise.
