Here's a team-by-team look at the most targeted players in the NFC through Week 2 (click here for AFC targets):
Arizona Cardinals
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Larry Fitzgerald | 9 | 17 | 8.5 |
| John Brown | 5 | 12 | 6 |
| Darren Fells | 0 | 5 | 2.5 |
| David Johnson | 5 | 5 | 2.5 |
Fitzgerald turned back the clock for a DFS dream stat line of eight receptions, 112 yards, and three TDs. Fitzgerald and Brown are both fantasy options as the Arizona offense continues to impress.
Atlanta Falcons
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Julio Jones | 15 | 26 | 13 |
| Leonard Hankerson | 11 | 15 | 7.5 |
| Devonta Freeman | 8 | 12 | 6 |
| Roddy White | 1 | 9 | 4.5 |
Jones and Hankerson dominated the targets in Week 2. Julio is obviously the elite WR1 in Atlanta but there could be battle brewing for targets between Hankerson and White.
Carolina Panthers
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Greg Olsen | 14 | 17 | 8.5 |
| Ted Ginn Jr. | 9 | 16 | 8 |
| Jerricho Cotchery | 1 | 7 | 3.5 |
| Jonathan Stewart | 1 | 5 | 2.5 |
The receiving group in Carolina is still a bit of an enigma but Olsen and Ginn seem to be emerging as the reliable options. Rookie Devin Funchess has only seen six targets as a WR3/4.
Chicago Bears
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eddie Royal | 8 | 13 | 6.5 |
| Martellus Bennett | 6 | 13 | 6.5 |
| Matt Forte | 5 | 13 | 6.5 |
| Alshon Jeffery | 0 (inactive) | 11 | 5.5 |
Injuries to Jeffery and Jay Cutler put the Bears' passing game in total flux. The only notable stat here is the equal target distribution, but who plays in Week 3 is anyone's guess.
Dallas Cowboys
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jason Witten | 8 | 13 | 6.5 |
| Terrance Williams | 9 | 15 | 7.5 |
| Lance Dunbar | 5 | 13 | 6.5 |
| Cole Beasley | 5 | 11 | 5.5 |
Going into Week 3, the Cowboys will be showcasing a very different team. The loss of Dez Bryant and Tony Romo makes it extremely difficult to predict how the Cowboys offense will sustain itself in the upcoming weeks. Witten and Williams are likely the best fantasy options here.
Detroit Lions
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Calvin Johnson | 17 | 21 | 10.5 |
| Golden Tate | 10 | 18 | 9 |
| Eric Ebron | 10 | 15 | 7.5 |
| Ameer Abdullah | 1 | 5 | 2.5 |
The Lions are 0-2 - and to make things worse, their next three games come against Denver, Seattle, and Arizona - all of which posses top-tier pass defenses. After only seeing four targets in Week 1, Johnson saw a monster 17 targets against the Bengals.
Green Bay Packers
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Randall Cobb | 11 | 16 | 8 |
| Davante Adams | 5 | 13 | 6.5 |
| James Jones | 3 | 7 | 3.5 |
| Richard Rodgers | 4 | 7 | 3.5 |
Aaron Rodgers has almost been too efficient in his first two weeks for DFS fantasy players. Though Cobb and Adams average superior targets, James Jones has three touchdowns.
Minnesota Vikings
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kyle Rudolph | 7 | 14 | 7 |
| Mike Wallace | 4 | 10 | 5 |
| Jarius Wright | 2 | 6 | 3 |
| Charles Johnson | 3 | 6 | 3 |
Rudolph has put up identical targets and receptions through Weeks 1 and 2 of seven and five respectively. In combination with Teddy Bridgewater's high completion percentage, Rudolph is a reliable DFS option fit for cash games.
New Orleans Saints
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brandin Cooks | 7 | 15 | 7.5 |
| Brandon Coleman | 6 | 13 | 6.5 |
| Marques Colston | 5 | 12 | 6 |
| Mark Ingram | 3 | 12 | 6 |
The days of the potent Saints offense seem to be long gone. Though the targets are well spread out, the productivity is simply not there for DFS rosters.
New York Giants
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Odell Beckham Jr. | 12 | 20 | 10 |
| Preston Parker | 6 | 12 | 6 |
| Larry Donnell | 6 | 10 | 5 |
| Rueben Randle | 2 | 7 | 3.5 |
Beckham Jr. quickly returned to form after a poor showing in Week 1. In typical WR1 fashion, Beckham garnered 12 targets and with Victor Cruz's return date still unofficial, Beckham warrants 10+ targets per week.
Philadelphia Eagles
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jordan Matthews | 9 | 22 | 11 |
| Zach Ertz | 7 | 15 | 7.5 |
| Darren Sproles | 4 | 13 | 6.5 |
| Nelson Agholor | 6 | 8 | 4 |
Outside of the second half in Week 1, the Eagles offense has looked quite poor especially running the ball. Highly touted rookie Agholor has found him on the outside looking in so far with eight total targets.
San Francisco 49ers
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anquan Boldin | 10 | 15 | 7.5 |
| Vernon Davis | 7 | 13 | 6.5 |
| Torrey Smith | 7 | 10 | 5 |
| Carlos Hyde | 4 | 6 | 3 |
In Week 1, the 49ers literally and figuratively ran away with the game leaving their passing game with little work to do. In Week 2, the script was flipped as game flow dictated Kaepernick let loose. Selecting the best DFS option from this group is somewhat of a coin flip at the moment
Seattle Seahawks
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doug Baldwin | 8 | 17 | 8.5 |
| Marshawn Lynch | 6 | 13 | 6.5 |
| Jermaine Kearse | 2 | 12 | 6 |
| Jimmy Graham | 2 | 10 | 5 |
The Seahawks are 0-2 and their passing game looks like it could use a legitimate receiver. Their main option has been Baldwin, who has 17 total targets but is extremely touchdown dependent in fantasy circles.
St. Louis Rams
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jared Cook | 7 | 13 | 6.5 |
| Benny Cunningham | 6 | 13 | 6.5 |
| Stedman Bailey | 4 | 8 | 4 |
| Kenny Britt | 4 | 7 | 3.5 |
The Rams receiving group has to be one of the least talented groups in the league. However, Nick Foles has done well to spread the burden around and Cunningham's role as a passing back has been galvanized through Week 2.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vincent Jackson | 5 | 16 | 8 |
| Austin Seferian-Jenkins | 3 | 10 | 5 |
| Charles Sims | 3 | 8 | 4 |
| Mike Evans | 3 | 3 | 1.5 |
The return of Evans will have a drastic effect on the look of this chart as the season progresses. Aside from that, the connection between Jameis Winston and Seferian-Jenkins has quickly made ASJ a DFS option fit for GPP games keeping his Week 1 performance in mind.
Washington Redskins
| NAME | WEEK 2 | TOTAL | AVG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jordan Reed | 6 | 17 | 8.5 |
| Pierre Garcon | 7 | 15 | 7.5 |
| Ryan Grant | 6 | 8 | 4 |
| Andrew Roberts | 1 | 5 | 2.5 |
This chart lacks No. 1 option DeSean Jackson, and will continue to do so likely until Week 4. In his absence, Reed and Garcon have stepped up as the two top options in Washington. Garcon is a cheap WR for cash games while Reed is a decent option for cash or GPP games.
