The Denver Broncos signed first-round pick Shane Ray on Monday.

Terms weren't officially released by the club, but it was reported to be a four-year deal worth $9.1 million with a $4.9-million signing bonus, according to Mike Klis of 9News Denver.

Denver selected the outside linebacker/defensive end out of Missouri with the 23rd overall pick.

Denver is switching to a 3-4 alignment in 2015 and Ray is expected to aid the Broncos' pass rush, with outside linebackers Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware expected to take on larger roles in the new scheme. Ray could also be utilized as a nominal defensive end at the line of scrimmage.

Ray was named the 2014 SEC Defensive Player of the Year.
