Forum post may have landed Camozzi a rematch with Jacare

Once a fighter is cut from the UFC, they usually have to go on an impressive run on the smaller circuit before they're brought back into the Octagon. For Chris Camozzi, all it took was a forum post.

Camozzi, who was cut by the UFC last year following a four-fight losing streak, saw a story about Yoel Romero having to pull out of his bout with Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza at UFC on FOX 15, and posted on an online forum that he wouldn't mind stepping into the Octagon with the ace grappler again. Jacare ran roughshod over Camozzi in his promotional debut at UFC on FX 8 back in 2013.

"I saw on The Underground that (Yoel Romero) was out, and people were talking about how (the UFC) didn't have a replacement. So I happen to post on Mixedmartialarts.com and say 'Hey, I'd fight him again if I had the chance,'" Camozzi told MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani.

"Well, apparently (UFC matchmaker) Joe Silva reads The Underground, because Saturday morning I rolled over and had a text on my phone that said 'were you serious about fighting Jacare again?' So I said 'absolutely.'"

it was a savvy move by Camozzi, who will likely get a nice under-the-table bonus for taking the short-notice fight to go along with a fresh opportunity to stay employed by the largest MMA organization in the world.

"Outside the UFC sucks," Camozzi said. "It's hard to find places that pay. There are places, but a lot of those shows that you see that are on TV are the shows that pay the least. Luckily, I refused to sign any contracts because I refuse to fight for money unless it's worth it."
