The Dallas Cowboys are close to signing right tackle Doug Free to a multi-year contract, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Free is set to become a free agent on March 10, but it looks like he'll be staying in Dallas for a few more seasons.
The seven-year veteran was a part of the best offensive line in the NFL last season and has been steady in protecting Tony Romo's right side throughout his career.
Free was injured down the stretch last season and missed the playoffs with a lingering foot injury. Jermey Parnell filled in admirably in his absence.
The 31-year-old's veteran presence is likely a factor in the signing, as the Cowboys' line is littered with young, inexperienced players.
