With intent to aid their depleted defensive corps, the Tampa Bay Lightning could look to the desert.
The Bolts are reportedly interested in attending the Arizona Coyotes' firesale to acquire veteran defenseman Zbynek Michalek, Sportnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Hockey Night in Canada's "Headlines" segment Saturday.
An unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, Michalek has spent the bulk of his 11-year career in Arizona, save for a two-year hiatus in Pittsburgh and his rookie season with the Wild.
He will bring a $4-million hit versus the cap, meaning the Bolts must move money to fit the veteran under their label.
