Gary Bettman: NHL jersey sponsorship not imminent
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman says you won't see ads on NHL jerseys in the immediate future.
Bettman made the statement when the subject came up at league meetings north of the border:
At NHL marketing meetings in Toronto, I'm told Gary Bettman reiterated jersey sponsorships not imminent in NHL.

The league's chief operating officer, John Collins, stirred the pot last week when he said jersey sponsorship was "coming and happening."
He later clarified that the remark was a general statement about North American sports and not specific to the NHL.
The concern voiced by both the NHL and NBA has been how teams would share the added revenue, with the fear being that the gap would widen between the large and small-market teams, according to Sports Business Daily.
