Nelson was sent face first into the boards during Friday night's game, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.
Analysis:
This required Nelson to take five stitches but apparently he is good enough to return to the game. One might wonder why the Islanders would even bother sending him back out n a meaningless preseason game. Perhaps it's because he's playing on the top line with John Tavares and they want the duo to get in as much work as possible before the real games begin.
