Report: Warriors' job Kerr's 'if he wants it,' no decision Wednesday

Steve Kerr probably had a lot of options on Prom Night. May have even been the Prom King, actually. Homecoming King, at the very least.

NBA franchises are now lining up to make Kerr feel like the prettiest boy in school once again, with Kerr reportedly atop the wish list of three teams for their vacant head coaching positions.

The interest from the New York Knicks is well known, and the Utah Jazz have also emerged as somewhat of a long-shot landing spot. Perhaps the most aggressive suitor, however, is now the Golden State Warriors, who are standing outside of Kerr's window with the proverbial boombox blaring In Your Eyes.

According to the New York Daily News, the Warriors job is Kerr's whenever he wants it:

According to a league source, Warriors owner Joe Lacob wants to hire Kerr to replace Mark Jackson, who was fired on Tuesday following three successful seasons as Golden State’s head coach. In fact, the Warriors wasted no time reaching out to Kerr, contacting him less than three hours after Jackson was dismissed. And a source maintains that the Warriors’ job is Kerr’s if he wants it.

The Knicks are still in play, but it is telling that Kerr — who met with Jackson 11 days ago in New York — has not made a decision, and that by delaying, two attractive jobs have become available.

The report also indicates that Kerr is not expected to make an announcement on Wednesday, so the rumors are likely to continue for at least another day.

The Jazz and Knicks may soon have to look elsewhere, while Stan Van Gundy apparently remains in play for the Dubs, should Kerr head to New York.
