Diakite is available for Thursday's Europa League clash against Sparta Prague despite accumulating three yellow cards in his first three appearances in the competition, as the disciplinary threshold for a one-match suspension is now four bookings.
Analysis:Diakite will avoid a suspension after the Europa League's disciplinary threshold was increased from three to four yellow cards, allowing him to remain eligible for Thursday's encounter against Sparta Prague. The defender is now just one booking away from a one-match ban, meaning another caution would rule him out of the Nov. 26 meeting with Celta Vigo. Although his availability provides Bournemouth with additional defensive depth, Diakite has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter this season, having yet to start a Premier League match while primarily featuring in domestic cup and European competitions. Diakite started the last two UEL games and could get another chance on Thursday. His disciplinary situation will remain worth monitoring throughout the European campaign, particularly if he continues receiving opportunities in the competition.
