Swann is trending toward starting in Saturday's game at Texas, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports.
Analysis:Swann began his 2026 season as Mississippi State's third-choice quarterback, behind Kamario Taylor (out for the campaign) and Parker Puckett, the former's initial backup. Puckett was unimpressive in relief of Taylor the last few weeks of action, so there is a legitimate chance that Swann can start under center at Texas. The start would mark Swann's first appearance since his 2025 season with Appalachian State, but he does hold previous SEC experience from his one season with both Vanderbilt and LSU.
