Watson (ankle) is expected to return in Friday's game at UConn, Pete Thamel of ESPN reports.
Analysis:Watson has missed Massachusetts' last two games with an ankle injury, which resulted in the Minutemen temporarily relying on backups Aedan McCarthy (undisclosed) and Logan Inagawa under center. Though the team will evaluate Watson once more before the UMass-UConn game, he is expected to mark his first MAC appearance since logging 20 completions for 210 yards and one touchdown in Week 5 against Eastern Michigan.
