Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai: Continues individual training

Rotowire• ·

Szoboszlai (hamstring) will miss Sunday's Premier League clash against Brighton as he continues training individually and has yet to regain sufficient fitness for competitive action, according to coach Andoni Iraola. "Dom is going to be out this weekend. I don't think he's far but he hasn't trained with the group still. And also considering the other day that we started him and he had to go out, we will probably take one or two days more than we would last week. He's in a good place. Dom is already training outside alone and is going to train with the group, but he's not ready for this one."

Analysis:

Szoboszlai remains sidelined with a hamstring issue that forced him off in the 32nd minute of Liverpool's 2-1 victory over Brentford. The Hungarian midfielder has not suffered a new injury or aggravated the existing problem, but his recovery has taken longer than initially anticipated. He is currently limited to individual training and will miss another fixture against Brighton on Sunday, although his absence is not expected to be prolonged. Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister remain the likely central midfield partnership in his absence, with Szoboszlai still awaiting clearance to resume full team training.
