Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey knows Joel Embiid's health is crucial to the team's success this season.

The 25-year-old believes that having Embiid on the court "changes everything" for a Sixers team with championship aspirations, according to ESPN's Kris Rhim.

"You can put in more packages," Maxey said Thursday. "There's been times where he hasn't been healthy and we get into the game and now we're trying to learn on the (fly)."

Embiid has averaged 49 games per season over his 10-year career. He appeared in just 38 contests last season while working through multiple ailments, including right hip complications, appendicitis, and injury management of his left knee.

However, unlike in past seasons, Embiid entered training camp in good health and has played during the preseason.

Maxey also highlighted how playing with Embiid before the season can especially benefit Philadelphia's new players, such as LeBron James and Jaylen Brown.

"If you haven't been playing with a big like Joel - there's not many - it's very hard, very difficult to learn certain things. ... So, with him being here, we can drill those things over and over," Maxey said. "It's been what, like two, three weeks that we've had just drilling and drilling. That's a good thing."
