Saelemaekers had an arthroscopic debridement and stabilization procedure on his right ankle in Amsterdam, Milan announced.
Analysis:Saelemaekers and the team eventually decided on the surgery a couple of weeks after he injured his ankle while training with Belgium. It's his second operation on the same joint in the span of a couple of seasons. According to Sky, he'll be sidelined for four to five months, thus missing a significant chunk of the campaign. Diego Moreira, Alphadjo Cisse and Omari Hutchison are set to absorb his workload in a few different roles.
