Black was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Tuesday, Alex Baumgartner of Florida Hockey Now reports.
Analysis:Black is expected to serve as the backup behind Akira Schmid for Tuesday's road clash with Columbus. The move will give Jacob Markstrom, who reportedly didn't suffer an injury versus Buffalo on Monday, an extra day to ensure he's 100 percent. For his part, expect Black to return to the Checkers following Tuesday's tilt.
