Van Riemsdyk (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
Analysis:Van Riemsdyk wasn't expected to be with the team when it left for its four-game road trip, so his placement on IR shouldn't come as a surprise. Still, head coach Dan Muse did leave the door open to the blueliner linking up with the team at a later date. Considering the 35-year-old New Jersey native is pointless in five games this year, few fantasy managers will be anxiously awaiting his return to the lineup.
