Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai: Sidelined with hamstring tightness

Rotowire• ·

Szoboszlai (hamstring) was ruled out of Sunday's Premier League clash against Manchester City after experiencing hamstring tightness following international duty, according to coach Andoni Iraola. "He came with an overload, he felt a tight hamstring. He's tried somehow, kind of pushing through training, but he was not feeling 100 per cent and we will have to wait for Dom, yes."

Analysis:

Szoboszlai returned from international duty with a hamstring issue and attempted to train through the discomfort but was ultimately unable to reach full fitness for Sunday's encounter. The midfielder has been a key contributor for Liverpool this season, recording one goal, 13 shots, 11 chances created and 17 corners across five Premier League appearances. Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister start together in central midfield against Manchester City, with Florian Wirtz operating in a more advanced role. Szoboszlai's absence also leaves Liverpool without one of their primary set-piece takers, while his availability for the next league fixture against Brentford remains uncertain.
