Gomes registered one tackle (one won) and one clearance in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Brentford.
Analysis:Gomes contributed defensively during his 86 minutes on the pitch, recording one clearance and winning his only tackle as Villa battled for control in midfield. The midfielder has accumulated 10 tackles and three interceptions across three Premier League appearances this season, demonstrating his ability to disrupt opposition attacks. His recent involvement suggests he is becoming an increasingly important option in central midfield, although competition for starting places remains significant.
