Leason was designated for waivers by the Sharks on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Analysis:Leason has been a healthy scratch for each of San Jose's first three games and figures to once again watch from the press box against the Blues on Thursday. Once the 27-year-old winger clears waivers, he should be sent down to the minors, which will open up a roster spot for Adam Gaudette (upper body).
