Wright (quadriceps) is not expected to return before November at the earliest as he continues recovering from a serious injury, according to coach Frank Lampard. "Haji and Woolfy will be a bit longer but they're working hard and they're getting there. Haji won't be back until November at best and I don't want to put pressure on it because it's an awkward injury."
Analysis:Wright remains some distance from returning after suffering a serious quadriceps injury that has kept him sidelined since preseason. Manager Frank Lampard's latest update confirms that the striker will miss Monday's clash against Newcastle United and several more fixtures, with even a November return remaining uncertain. Taiwo Awoniyi, Sidiki Cherif and Ellis Simms will continue competing for opportunities up front during his absence. Given the severity of the injury, Coventry are unlikely to rush Wright back into action.
