Giants' Chauncey Golston: Facing extended absence

Rotowire• ·

Giants head coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that Golston (neck) "could be" facing a long-term absence, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Analysis:

After injuring his neck in the Giants' Week 4 win over the Cardinals, Golston didn't practice Wednesday. Given Harbaugh's comments, Golston can safely be ruled out for Sunday's game in Washington, but the defensive lineman could undergo additional testing before the Giants determine whether his neck issue is significant enough to send him to injured reserve. Golston had recorded 12 tackles through the Giants' first four games.
