The Jets designated Patrick (groin) for return from injured reserve Wednesday, John Pullano of the team's official site reports.
Analysis:The transaction opens the veteran wide receiver's 21-day practice window. he was a full participant in Wednesday's session, and if he can maintain that level of activity Thursday and Friday, Patrick will have a good shot at being activated from IR ahead of Sunday's game against the Browns. The Jets could have a need for Patrick to fill out their receiving corps, as Adonai Mitchell (finger) is still being viewed as week-to-week and appears unlikely to play Sunday.
