Simpson (not injury related) won't play in Providence's exhibition this weekend against BC, per college basketball journalist Kevin McNamara.
Analysis:Simpson's eligibility is still up in the air. The fifth-year guard spent the last two seasons at St. Joe's, and in 2025-26, he averaged 13.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.2 assists. However, his status remains unclear as the Friars begin to ramp up their preseason schedule.
