Nebraska's Jamal Rule: Back for Week 6

Rotowire• ·

Rule (lower body) is available for Saturday's game against Indiana, Mitch Sherman of The Athletic reports.

Analysis:

Fortunately for Rule, it appears that his lower-body injury will not cause a multi-game absence after he already sat out one game (at Maryland) because of the issue. It is also a perfect time for the superstar running back to be available since Nebraska's backfield will face a tall task attempting to help the Cornhuskers defeat reigning champion Indiana, whose program has not lost any games since 2024. Take away Week 4, when Rule got hurt at Michigan State, and he had as good a start to his 2026 season as any running back could have. In three games, Rule logged 38 rushing yards for 329 yards and five touchdowns. As a receiving option, he also logged four receptions for 82 yards and an additional TD. However, the difference between those three games and Week 6 is that Rule achieved such an output against Ohio, Bowling Green and North Dakota, but Indiana is not expected to let runners like him excel so easily.
