Gillespie finished with eight points (3-3 FG, 2-2 3Pt), one rebound, one assist, one steal and one block in 17 minutes during Monday's 109-107 preseason loss to Detroit.
Analysis:Gillespie was efficient while operating with Phoenix's second unit and opened the second half alongside Luke Kennard and Jordan Goodwin. The 27-year-old should remain in the mix for backup point guard minutes after establishing himself as a reliable perimeter shooter last season.
