Burton completed 8 of 18 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 33-14 victory against Samford. He also had nine rushes for 35 yards.
Analysis:Burton did enough to lead UAB to its third win of the season Saturday. Facing an FCS opponent, his low output was considerably underwhelming. The signal-caller completed under 10 passes for the second time this season and failed to clear 200 yards through the air, a threshold he has not reached since Week 1. He did throw his fourth touchdown of the season to CJ Smith on a 31-yard score late in the fourth quarter.
