Mason totaled eight rushes for 21 yards and reeled in 1 of 2 targets for negative four yards during Saturday's 17-13 win over South Florida.
Analysis:Mason was primed for a big workload with Sam Brown (undisclosed) sidelined, but he couldn't find a rhythm on the ground, leading to Hunter Smith rushing for 11 carries and 69 yards. This was the running back's lowest production of the season so far, with both his eight attempts and 21 yards setting new season lows. It remains unclear what Brown's status will be for Week 6, but if he is unavailable once again, Mason should still see opportunities in the backfield considering the team has generally split snaps between them.
