Gutierrez was 7-for-15 passing for 140 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 14-9 loss versus Air Force. He also had 12 rushes for 33 yards.
Analysis:Gutierrez connected with Truman Brasfield for a 68-yard touchdown that ended up being Navy's only score of the game. Aside from that scoring strike, he struggled to generate much ground production, collecting 33 yards on 12 carries following his 100-yard rushing performance last week as Air Force's defense kept him largely in check. The quarterback drew the start under center even with Braxton Woodson returning from an ankle injury that had sidelined him for one game. A previous report indicated that Gutierrez could remain involved in the offense even upon Woodson's return, though it remains unclear which quarterback will take the opening snaps against Tulsa this Saturday.
